British Values Week

10 Feb British Values Week

We have really enjoyed our British Week and I know that the children will take away with them memories that will last a long time. Our visitors have been full of praise for our children, who have listened attentively and been excellent ambassadors for our school. Well done children! Cath Greenlees from Fairtrade not only led worship and visited classes (sharing some Fairtrade chocolate!); she also met with Miss James and our School Council about possible future projects. It was lovely to see such friendship between the staff and children when we came together with St. Mary’s to create our ‘human’ flag – big thanks to our photographer Adam for going up the ladder! The children had a great time with Ray and Carl from the police and enjoyed seeing some of their equipment and sitting in the patrol vehicle! It was lovely to welcome MP Lindsay Hoyle into school. After a tour of school and each class, talking to us all in a special worship and having a gruelling ‘Question and Answers’ session with Y6, he enjoyed one of Elaine’s wonderful ‘Friday Favourites’ school dinners! It was a lovely way to finish a half-term in school.
