Dear Parents,
Another busy week of learning!

Literacy:
We made telescopes and used them when we walked to the park. We pretended to be Timothy Pope, luckily we didn't see any sharks! We did see Mrs Critchley on the swing, Mrs Gifford on the climbing frame and Mrs Tadman smelling the flowers!
Back in the classroom we created a map of the route we took and wrote sentences about what we liked to play on at the park.
Maths:We have been practising writing our numbers correctly and we have been introduced to the Rekenreks!
WELLBEING HOMEWORKPlease see the files section for a downloadable copy of the following activity:
Phonics HomeworkPlease find the weekly sheets for this half term in the files section at the bottom of this blog. Use the sheet however it works for you. Some people may want to print it out or just use the information to say the phoneme, write the grapheme and play games thinking about things that start with that sound. We are also looking carefully at forming our letters correctly in class. Please remind your child to say the rhyme for each letter to help them when they are writing at home.We are sending home a sheet with all the tricky words on to keep practising!Talk to your child about what makes each word tricky.
Show and TellWe will be looking for signs of Spring! The children can bring something linked to the season of Spring to share with their friends.
Reading BooksAs we are now in the Summer term please can you try and spend a little time every night to listen to your child reading their reading book. This will really help them consolidate their phonic knowledge and practise recognising and reading tricky words. We change the reading books every Monday and Thursday.Library BooksLibrary books will be coming home tonight. Please return by Wednesday each week ready to be changed on Friday.
Reminders- Please make sure hair is tied up for PE (Friday).- Please help your child to be as independent as possible when getting dressed/undressed for PE.- Please ensure all your child's clothes are named.
Have a lovely weekend,FromMs Lucas, Mrs Critchley and Mrs Gifford. |
