Date: 4th Jul 2025 @ 2:05pm
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the Reception Friday blog!
Please see the class page for the Summer 2 Curriculum overview.
Literacy:
We read about the life cycle of a bee, then sequenced the pictures and wrote our own sentences to describe what happens.
|
Maths:
We have counted to larger amounts and solved number problems linked to bees in the garden.
Art Week:
The children have loved writing about their artwork this week. Here they are displayed in the hall.
Save the date!
End of year Reception Assembly.
Thursday 17th July 9.15am. Refreshments afterwards.
Phonics Homework
Please find the weekly sheets for this half term in the files section at the bottom of this blog. Use the sheet however it works for you. Some people may want to print it out or just use the information to say the phoneme, write the grapheme and play games thinking about things that start with that sound.
Show and Tell
We have thoroughly enjoyed seeing the photos and watching the video clips of the children fastening, buttoning and zipping. Please keep them coming!
Reading Books
As we are now in the Summer term please can you try and spend a little time every night to listen to your child reading their reading book. This will really help them consolidate their phonic knowledge and practise recognising and reading tricky words. We change the reading books every Monday and Thursday.
Library Books
Library books have now been collected in. If you still have one at home could you please send it in next week. If you have misplaced a library book at home you can replace it by donating a book for our library.
Reminders
- Please make sure hair is tied up for PE (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
- Please help your child to be as independent as possible when getting dressed/undressed for PE.
- Please ensure all your child's clothes are named.
- If your child needs to use lip balm could you please send it in in a named bag for the teachers to look after and oversee them putting it on.
- When the weather is hot please apply sun cream before school. Each child has a school sun hat and we continue to encourage them to drink lots of water.
