Welcome to Reception (1).png

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Reception Friday blog!

Each week you will find out what we have been doing in class, reminders and lots more!

Every Friday, the blog will be shared with the class to recap our learning.

Reports

The annual reports have been sent home today in your child's bag. Please return the acknowledgement form to your child's teacher as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your support.

If you would like to discuss any aspect of your child's report, a drop-in session will be held in the Reception classroom on Wednesday 15th July from 3.30pm.

Literacy:

We have continued working on character descriptions. We have independently wriiten sentences about the wolf.

Maths:

We have been practising adding two amounts using characters and items from our story 'The Three Little Pigs'.

Phonics Homework

Please find the weekly sheets for this half term in the files section at the bottom of this blog.  Use the sheet however it works for you. Some people may want to print it out or just use the information to say the phoneme, write the grapheme and play games thinking about things that start with that sound. We are also looking carefully at forming our letters correctly in class. Please remind your child to say the rhyme for each letter to help them when they are writing at home.

We are sending home a sheet with all the tricky words on to keep practising!

Talk to your child about what makes each word tricky.

Show and Tell

Mrs Obertelli was thrilled to receive so many letters and says a huge THANK YOU to all the children that wrote her a letter!

Please return PE bags on Monday.

Please return any outstanding Library books on Monday, if you are unable to find it you can replace it by sending in a book to school.

Have a lovely weekend,

From

Ms Lucas, Mrs Critchley and Mrs Gifford.
