Dear Parents,

Well done to our award winners this week!

Phonics
The children are settling well to phase 3 phonic sounds and have enjoyed the learning the new sounds. Please keep sending in on Seesaw examples of the children practising their new sounds at home. They have had the chance to applying the new sounds in a word or as a part of a sentence.
We have reviewed our terms learning and completed our phonics assessment this week.

Reading
Please remember to read regularly with your child. This term especially is important as we delve deeper into their phonetic knowledge for building reading and comprehension skills.
Also please can you ensure only one key ring is hanging from your child's book bag. This will help us fit them in the class box. Thank you.
Please send into school the reading book and reading record book each day as we hear the children read aswell. We change the books twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. Books will only be changed if the reading record has been written in. If you have any questions please ask.

Literacy
This week we have learnt a new story 'Tell Me a Dragon', This week we have thought about the text and thought about what our dragon would look like? what can it do? what makes it special?
We pained our dragons and then wrote about them.
We also had a delivery of our own dragon eggs to care for...

Safety in PE
We would like to remind all parents that for the safety of all children and following guidance from Chorley SSP, jewellery is not to be worn during PE. This includes earrings, bracelets and watches. All children will be asked to remove their jewellery at the start of every PE lesson. This will ensure their own safety during the lesson and the safety of others. If a child is unable to take out their own earrings, adults in school will not be able to do it for them. This will mean they will have to take another role in the lesson such as observing, coaching or officiating.
For this reason, if your child is not confident taking out earrings, please do not put them in on our PE days. This year, our PE lessons are on Monday and Friday, however we may also have extra lessons on other days throughout the year.
Thank you for your support in keeping our children safe.

Tennis Sessions
This is our last tennis lesson today and we had such fun learning to apply our new skills in some team games. A huge thank you to the tennis coach for his time and efforts.
