Phoinics |

The children have completed their term assessments and have being enjoying the phonics games this week.
Please practise the letter sounds sent home with your child to support their learning. The letter sounds are found in their bags.
Reading
Please remember to read regular with your child, this term especially is important as we delve deeper into their phonetic knowledge for building reading and comprehension skills.
Please send into school the reading book and reading record book each day as we hear the children read aswell. We change the books twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. Books will only be changed if the reading record has been written in. If you have any questions please ask.
Maths

We have had a lot of fun this week with our santa maths games and finding one less.
Literacy.

This week we have been busy writing christmas cards and a letter to Santa.
Our Little Movers!

We have had a fabulous week of trips out. We had a lovely walk to the post box to post something special for our families. We also had a lovely trip to the Library were we listened to Christmas stories, joined in Christmas songs and Christmas craft. A big thank you to the Library for having us.
Please still continue to remind the children of these safety steps.
· Think – is this the safest place to cross the road?
· Stop - with their feet back from the kerb, which gives them time to Look and Listen.
· Look - for any vehicles that might be coming on the road – remember, children of this age are unable to judge speed and distance.
· Listen - for vehicles. They may hear something before they can see it – remind them though, that electric cars make very little noise.
· Think again – have they followed the rules, and will they keep Looking and Listening the whole time they are crossing the road?
They have also been reminded to play in a safe place away from traffic and to wear or carry something bright so they can be seen at the roadside by other road users.
Communication

Dear Parent's in line with the school policy, please contact the school office if you wish to speak with the Reception Team during the day or alternately speak with us at the end of the school day. Please only use Seesaw for Show and Tell and weekly tasks set. This will ensure we do not miss any messages or important information needed. Thank you for your understanding.
Safety in PE
.jpg)
We would like to remind all parents that for the safety of all children and following guidance from Chorley SSP, jewellery is not to be worn during PE. This includes earrings, bracelets and watches. All children will be asked to remove their jewellery at the start of every PE lesson. This will ensure their own safety during the lesson and the safety of others. If a child is unable to take out their own earrings, adults in school will not be able to do it for them. This will mean they will have to take another role in the lesson such as observing, coaching or officiating.
For this reason, if your child is not confident taking out earrings, please do not put them in on our PE days. This year, our PE lessons are on Tuesday and Friday, however we may also have extra lessons on other days throughout the year.
Thank you for your support in keeping our children safe.
End of Day Routine

-
Children will only be allowed to go home with adults listed on the safeguarding form, unless school has been contacted to state otherwise.
-
Children will be dismissed one at a time. Please let the adult on the gate know who you are picking up and they will then call the child.
-
We kindly request that all children are dismissed prior to teachers/ Teaching Assistants being approached by parents.
-
Should any child need to come back into the classroom, we will allow them back into the room after all of the children have been dismissed.
