Welcome to our weekly Reception blog!
Dear Parents,
AWARDSWell done to our award winners this week!

PhonicsWe have continued consolidate and review of phase 3 sounds and tricky words. Please can we practise with your child the tricky words from phase 2.Thank you. |
ReadingPlease remember to read regularly with your child. This term especially is important as we delve deeper into their phonetic knowledge for building reading and comprehension skills. Also please can you ensure only one key ring is hanging from your child's book bag. This will help us fit them in the class box. Thank you. Please send into school the reading book and reading record book each day as we hear the children read aswell. We change the books twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. Books will only be changed if the reading record has been written in. If you have any questions please ask. |
|
Library SessionWe have continued to attend the school library on a Friday morning. The children will have the opportunity to choose and take home a book to read over the weekend. This book must be returned on the Thursday so we can change it the following Friday.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION....Please can we ask if you didn't return your child's book to send it in as soon as possible. A new book cannot be issued until returned.

MathsWe have been learning about addition and subtration sentences over the past few weeks. The children have really enjoyed using stories to help build subtraction sentences to find the answer.
|
LiteracyThis week we have made the most of the lovely weather. We have enjoyed a Spring walk and took the opportunity to take our lessons outside to use the world around us as our writing stimulous.
|
Safety in PEWe would like to remind all parents that for the safety of all children and following guidance from Chorley SSP, jewellery is not to be worn during PE. This includes earrings, bracelets and watches. All children will be asked to remove their jewellery at the start of every PE lesson. This will ensure their own safety during the lesson and the safety of others. If a child is unable to take out their own earrings, adults in school will not be able to do it for them. This will mean they will have to take another role in the lesson such as observing, coaching or officiating. For this reason, if your child is not confident taking out earrings, please do not put them in on our PE days. This year, our PE lessons are on Monday and Friday, however we may also have extra lessons on other days throughout the year.Thank you for your support in keeping our children safe. |
