Please see the class page for the Summer 2 Curriculum overview.

Literacy:

The children have worked independently to create their own bug character, they drew, described them and wrote what they would do in the Bug Hotel.

Maths:

We have continued to practise our number partners to 5 and 10 in the Maths area. We have also weighed out the correct amount of ingredients and used correct mathematical vocabulary when making our yummy honey biscuits!

Why don't you have a go at making some at home?

Here is the recipe...

Thankyou to Chorley SSP for visiting us on Monday. We worked in our house teams and had fun doing a sack race, bouncing the ball 5 times, throwing and catching a ball and throwing a ball to earn points.

We had an amazing trip to Smithills Farm on Wednesday, the sun shone and the children were amazing! Our activities included donkey rides, petting animals, tractor ride, learning about milking cows and feeding the animals. Please look on Seesaw for more photographs.

Phonics Homework

Please find the weekly sheets for this half term in the files section at the bottom of this blog. Use the sheet however it works for you. Some people may want to print it out or just use the information to say the phoneme, write the grapheme and play games thinking about things that start with that sound.

Show and Tell

Next week, as part of Art Week we will be thinking about a place that is special to us and why it is special to us. Please can the children have a think about this over the weekend and bring in a photo (or send via Seesaw) or an object that represents 'why' it is special.

Reading Books

As we are now in the Summer term please can you try and spend a little time every night to listen to your child reading their reading book. This will really help them consolidate their phonic knowledge and practise recognising and reading tricky words. We change the reading books every Monday and Thursday.

Library Books

Library books will be coming home tonight.

Please return by Wednesday each week ready to be changed on Friday.

Reminders

- Please make sure hair is tied up for PE (Tuesdays and Thursdays).

- Please help your child to be as independent as possible when getting dressed/undressed for PE.

- Please ensure all your child's clothes are named.

- If your child needs to use lip balm could you please send it in in a named bag for the teachers to look after and oversee them putting it on.

- When the weather is hot please apply sun cream before school. Each child has a school sun hat and we continue to encourage them to drink lots of water.

Have a lovely weekend!

From

Ms Lucas, Mrs Critchley and Mrs Gifford.
