Reception Blog 22.11.2024

Date: 20th Nov 2024 @ 11:12am

Dear Parents,

Welcome to our weekly Reception blog!

Another busy week! We are now regularly rehearsing our Christmas performance, the children are doing really well, learning their parts and singing the songs.

Please see the message on Seesaw about costumes and as always if you have any questions please ask.

In class we have begun to think about our 'People who help us' topic and our provision has included making emergency vehicles in the junk modelling area, matching jobs to uniforms and we have really enjoyed our new role play area of 'The Hairdressers'.

Phonics Homework

Please find the weekly sheets as discussed during the meeting in the files section at the bottom of this blog. We have completed week 3 Autumn 2 in class this week. Use the sheet however it works for you. Some people may want to print it out or just use the information to say the phoneme, write the grapheme and play games thinking about things that start with that sound. There are also some examples of words to blend at the bottom of the sheet.

Show and Tell

Thankyou for your continued support with this. Next week we would like the children to share something about our topic of 'People who help us', maybe some information they have found out or they might like to tell us about a family member who has a job in which they help people? As always they can bring something in or send something via Seesaw.

Reading Books

Please ensure they are sent in each day as we do have reading helpers who can also listen to child in School. As previously mentioned we will change these books every Tuesday and Thursday if you have signed the reading record book to say they have read. The ideal is a little time spent every night looking at the book together and enjoying it!

Library Books

We hope you enjoyed sharing the Library book your child brought home last Friday.

Please return by Wednesday each week ready to be changed on Friday.

Reminders

- Please make sure hair is tied up for PE (Tuesdays and Thursdays).

- Please help your child to practise zipping up their own coat, now the weather is getting colder and wetter.

- Please ensure all your child's clothes are named. Could you also check that you haven't ended up with anybody elses clothes as we still have a couple of cardigans missing!

Have a lovely weekend,

From

Ms Lucas, Mrs Critchley and Mrs Gifford.
