Dear parents,

Welcome to the Reception Friday blog!

Literacy:

We have written sentences about our trip to 'Bring Yer Wellies'.

The children have worked independently to show their phonic and tricky word knowledge.

Maths:

We have enjoyed exploring our new light box in the maths area and continued our work on subitising and odd/even numbers.

Water Walk

Thankyou for all the incredible amount of sponsor money raised for Water Aid. The children were amazing 'Water Warriors' acting as 'Agents of change'. More photos can be found in the gallery section of the website.

Thank you to our school council representatives for hosting the event!

Freddie Fit

We all had a great fitness session with Freddie Fit. The hula hooping was amazing!

Church Visit

We enjoyed our visit to Church. We got to look around and ask Rev Jo questions about the Church building, inside and outside.

Phonics Homework

Please find the weekly sheets for this half term in the files section at the bottom of this blog. Use the sheet however it works for you. Some people may want to print it out or just use the information to say the phoneme, write the grapheme and play games thinking about things that start with that sound.

Reading Books

As we are now in the Summer term please can you try and spend a little time every night to listen to your child reading their reading book. This will really help them consolidate their phonic knowledge and practise recognising and reading tricky words. We change the reading books every Monday and Thursday.
