Phonics.

The children have continued to enjoy the daily sessions and have been practising each new phoneme in their independent learning. Thankyou for sending in on Seesaw examples of the children practising their phonemes and graphemes at home  They have had the chance to practise forming the graphemes correctly. Please see the sheets for Week 2 in the files section below. If you want to practise forming the graphemes using the rhymes for each one and playing games such as I spy to help consolidate this weeks learning. Any photos of this homework can be sent in via Seesaw.

Maths.

We have introduced number two this week and created a garden for the numberland house number two. The children have found two objects and represented two in different ways. We have used the stem sentence 'one and one is two' and looked at images of 'two' and 'not two'. The children have been taught how to write number two by saying - round the swans head, across its body and stop. Glide to the wings.

Literacy.

Our Class is a Family (The Classroom Community Collection) : Olsen ...

We have shared the story 'Our Class is a Family' and talked about our families at home and our School family. This has helped us to talk about how we need to look after each other and treat each other.

Show and Tell.

Thankyou for sending in family photos and photos of your child reading. If you haven't managed to yet please send in ASAP. Next week we are beginning to talk about all the things we can now do compared to when we were a baby. We will introduce the words 'past' and 'present'. To help us could you send in a photo of when your child was a baby please.

PE

PE will take place on a Tuesday and a Friday . Please ensure earrings have been removed on these days to enable the children to join in with the lesson.

End of Day Routine

  • Children will only be allowed to go home with adults listed on the safeguarding form, unless school has been contacted to state otherwise.

  • Children will be dismissed one at a time. Please let the adult on the gate know who you are picking up and they will then call the child.

  • We kindly request that all children are dismissed prior to teachers/ Teaching Assistants being approached by parents.

  • Should any child need to come back into the classroom, we will allow them back into the room after all of the children have been dismissed.

Thankyou for your continued support and have a lovely weekend!
