Join Mo’s Mission: Let’s get moving together!

This year, Youth Sport Trust are celebrating 30 years of  improving young people’s lives through sport and play. To mark this milestone, our National School Sport Champion, four-time Olympic Champion Sir Mo Farah CBE, has set an incredible challenge:

Together, let’s pledge 30,000,000 active minutes by the end of 2025!

 Sir Mo Farah said:

“Every young person deserves to grow up happy, healthy, and with the opportunity to achieve their full potential. Staying active for 60 minutes a day (or 20 minutes for SEND young people) is a big part of making this happen.

“Join me in Mo’s Mission and help inspire children across the UK to get moving. Together, we can create brighter futures and make a real difference to their health and wellbeing. Let’s do this - no MoBot until the mission is done!”

Please complete the weekly planner (in the files to download section). Each child (or parent of the younger children) can write how many active minutes they have achieved before, during and after school for the week commencing 30th June.

Phonics Homework

Please find the weekly sheets for this half term in the files section at the bottom of this blog. Use the sheet however it works for you. Some people may want to print it out or just use the information to say the phoneme, write the grapheme and play games thinking about things that start with that sound.

Show and Tell

In class we have been practising fastening things and tying shoelaces. Take a photograph of your child using different fastenings (zips, plastic clasps, buttons and laces!).

Reading Books

As we are now in the Summer term please can you try and spend a little time every night to listen to your child reading their reading book. This will really help them consolidate their phonic knowledge and practise recognising and reading tricky words. We change the reading books every Monday and Thursday.

Library Books

Library books will changed next week.

Reminders

- Please make sure hair is tied up for PE (Tuesdays and Thursdays).

- Please help your child to be as independent as possible when getting dressed/undressed for PE.

- Please ensure all your child's clothes are named.

- If your child needs to use lip balm could you please send it in in a named bag for the teachers to look after and oversee them putting it on.

- When the weather is hot please apply sun cream before school. Each child has a school sun hat and we continue to encourage them to drink lots of water.

Have a lovely weekend!

From

Ms Lucas, Mrs Critchley and Mrs Gifford.
