On Friday we decorated our classroom Christmas tree, we all placed a decoration on whilst singing Christmas carols.
Library Visit
On Thursday 12th December we will be walking to visit Euxton Library. Whilst there we will have a story, learn all about the Library and every child will have the opportunity to choose and scan out their own book!
If your child already has a Library card please can they bring it in on the day of the visit. If your child does not already have a Library card please print out and fill in the form in the files section at the bottom of this blog. All forms must be sent into School by 6th December and the children will recieve their Library card on the visit.
Phonics Homework
Please find the weekly sheets as discussed during the meeting in the files section at the bottom of this blog. We have consolidated week 3 Autumn 2 and begun week 4 Autumn 2 in class this week. Use the sheet however it works for you. Some people may want to print it out or just use the information to say the phoneme, write the grapheme and play games thinking about things that start with that sound. There are also some examples of words to blend at the bottom of the sheet.
We are noticing some children are struggling to identify tricky words. These are words that have a 'tricky' part that makes them unable to be sounded out. These words are included on the sheets.
Show and Tell
Thankyou for your continued support with this. Next week we would like the children to share something about Advent and the build up to Christmas. Maybe some information they have found out or they might like to show us their Advent Calendar. They might even like to share their letter to Santa?
As always they can bring something in or send something via Seesaw.
Reading Books
Please ensure they are sent in every day as we do have reading helpers who can also listen to child in School. As previously mentioned we will change these books every Tuesday and Thursday if you have signed the reading record book to say they have read. The ideal is a little time spent every night looking at the book together and enjoying it!
Library Books
We hope you enjoyed sharing the Library book your child brought home last Friday.
Please return by Wednesday each week ready to be changed on Friday.
Reminders
- Please make sure hair is tied up for PE (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
- Please help your child to practise zipping up their own coat, now the weather is getting colder and wetter.
- Please ensure all your child's clothes are named. Could you also check that you haven't ended up with anybody elses clothes as we still have a couple of cardigans missing!
Have a lovely weekend,
From
Ms Lucas, Mrs Critchley and Mrs Gifford.
