Reception Blog 3rd July 2026
Date: 3rd Jul 2026 @ 3:24pm
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the Reception Friday blog!
Each week you will find out what we have been doing in class, reminders and lots more!
Every Friday, the blog will be shared with the class to recap our learning.
|
What a busy week!Thankyou to everyone who came to our 'Look at me now!' assembly and our Sports Day.
Literacy:We have read 'The Three Little Pigs' and described the wolf and the pigs to our friends.
|
Maths:
We have been working with the Rekenreks to make number bonds to 5 and challenged ourselves to make 10.
Phonics Homework
Please find the weekly sheets for this half term in the files section at the bottom of this blog. Use the sheet however it works for you. Some people may want to print it out or just use the information to say the phoneme, write the grapheme and play games thinking about things that start with that sound. We are also looking carefully at forming our letters correctly in class. Please remind your child to say the rhyme for each letter to help them when they are writing at home.
We are sending home a sheet with all the tricky words on to keep practising!
Talk to your child about what makes each word tricky.
Show and Tell
Children can write a letter to their new teacher, Mrs Obertelli. They can share with the class and give it to her on move up morning (Thursday).
Reading Books
We will be changing the reading books for the final time on Monday. We will be collecting them in on Friday next week.
