Welcome to our weekly Reception blog!
Phonics.The children have continued to enjoy the daily sessions and have been practising each new phoneme in their independent learning. Thankyou for sending in on Seesaw examples of the children practising their phonemes and graphemes at home They have had the chance to practise forming the graphemes correctly. Please see the sheets for Week 3 in the files section below. We have also introduced tricky word 'is'. If you want to practise forming the graphemes using the rhymes for each one and playing games such as I spy to help consolidate this weeks learning. Any photos of this homework can be sent in via Seesaw.
Reading.The children were all given their first reading book last Friday. Please look at the book with your child and write in their reading record book. Please send into school the reading book and reading record book each day as we hear the children read aswell. We change the books twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. Books will only be changed if the reading record has been written in. If you have any questions please ask.
Maths.We have introduced number 3 this week and created a garden for the numberland house number 3. The children have found three objects and represented three in different ways. We have used the stem sentence 'two and one is three' and 'three is two and one'. The children have been taught how to write number three by saying 'round the seahorses head and stop. Curve round its body'.
Literacy.National Poetry DayTo celebrate Oracy week and National Poetry Day we performed 'Throw a Ball' by Michael Rosen to Year 1 and Year 2. Look on Seesaw for a clip of our performance!
Show and Tell.Thankyou for sending in baby photos. If you haven't managed to yet please send in ASAP.Next week we are going to share our favourite stories. Please could your child bring in their favourite story book from home to share with their friends.
PEPE will take place on a Tuesday and a Friday . Please ensure earrings have been removed on these days to enable the children to join in with the lesson.
