Welcome to our weekly Reception blog!
Dear Parents,
AWARDS
Well done to our award winners this week!

Phonics

The children have reviewed last terms learning and have enjoyed the challenge of the new learning. Please keep sending in on Seesaw examples of the children practising their phonemes and graphemes at home. They have had the chance to practise forming the graphemes correctly. Please see the sheets for the new term in the files section below.
Reading
Please remember to read regular with your child, this term especially is important as we delve deeper into their phonetic knowledge for building reading and comprehension skills.
Also please can you ensure only one key ring is hanging from your child's book bag. This will help us fit them in the class box. Thank you.
Please send into school the reading book and reading record book each day as we hear the children read aswell. We change the books twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. Books will only be changed if the reading record has been written in. If you have any questions please ask.

Take a photo of your child reading in the funniest of places. This will encourage the fun and excitement of bringing stories alive. I will then share some on the blog next week and in future.
Maths
We have been focussing on exploring groups of objects up to 10 and idenifying which group has more or less. We have loved comparing quantities and drawing our own groups such as 4 spots. The children have enjoyed comparing and sharing their ideas and disscussing different answers that are correct.
Literacy.
This week we have shared our new story 'Bears Winter House'. We have also enjoyed exploring our school grounds to find signs of Winter.
Multifaith Week
The children have all settled back into school and have been working hard all week. They have been very enthusiastic in their learning throughout Multifaith Week. In Reception, we have been learning all about Christianity. We have been learning about the importance of the cross, prayer and the church to Christians.
We were very lucky to have a lovely visit from The Rev. Jo, It was lovley to hear about her role in Christianity and the local Church. She has invited us to come for a visit later in the term which we all are looking forward to. We had lots of questions and we got to see what a Vicar wears in church.
My Happy Mind.

Throughout the school, children in each of the classes have all been extremely enthusiastic about learning how to use happy breathing to help with the regulation of emotions. We have been uisng the My Happy Mind website to learn all about our brain. As of 9.1.26, parents will now be able to access the website.
Please see the files to download section for further information.
Passwords for parents to access the site can be found inside your child's reading record book.
Safety in PE
.jpg)
We would like to remind all parents that for the safety of all children and following guidance from Chorley SSP, jewellery is not to be worn during PE. This includes earrings, bracelets and watches. All children will be asked to remove their jewellery at the start of every PE lesson. This will ensure their own safety during the lesson and the safety of others. If a child is unable to take out their own earrings, adults in school will not be able to do it for them. This will mean they will have to take another role in the lesson such as observing, coaching or officiating.
For this reason, if your child is not confident taking out earrings, please do not put them in on our PE days. This year, our PE lessons are on Tuesday and Friday, however we may also have extra lessons on other days throughout the year.
Thank you for your support in keeping our children safe.
End of Day Routine

-
Children will only be allowed to go home with adults listed on the safeguarding form, unless school has been contacted to state otherwise.
-
Children will be dismissed one at a time. Please let the adult on the gate know who you are picking up and they will then call the child.
-
We kindly request that all children are dismissed prior to teachers/ Teaching Assistants being approached by parents.
-
Should any child need to come back into the classroom, we will allow them back into the room after all of the children have been dismissed.
Show and Tell!
