Wellbeing Homework
We have been learning about water safety as part of Drowning Prevention Week (13th-20th June).

Literacy:
We have used what we have learnt so far to write about the life cyle of a frog and a buttrerfly. We have also practised writing sentences on our whiteboards about a ladybird using our phonic knowledge and tricky words.

Maths:
We have been using ordinal numbers when describing position.
Phonics Homework
Please find the weekly sheets for this half term in the files section at the bottom of this blog. Use the sheet however it works for you. Some people may want to print it out or just use the information to say the phoneme, write the grapheme and play games thinking about things that start with that sound. We are also looking carefully at forming our letters correctly in class. Please remind your child to say the rhyme for each letter to help them when they are writing at home.
We are sending home a sheet with all the tricky words on to keep practising!
Talk to your child about what makes each word tricky.
Show and Tell
Children can bring in items that link to our new topic.
Reading Books
As we are now in the Summer term please can you try and spend a little time every night to listen to your child reading their reading book. This will really help them consolidate their phonic knowledge and practise recognising and reading tricky words. We change the reading books every Monday and Thursday.
Library Books
Library books will be coming home tonight.
Please return by Wednesday each week ready to be changed on Friday.
Reminders
- Please make sure hair is tied up for PE (Friday).
- Please help your child to be as independent as possible when getting dressed/undressed for PE.
- Please ensure all your child's clothes are named.
A huge thankyou to Mr Rapp (Matilda's dad) who has created a 'Jofli Bear' song for us! Jofli is an important member of our class and we can now sing his song each week before he chooses who he will go home with.
You can listen to the song using this link
