Year 1 Friday Blog - 16th October

Reading books will continue to be changed on a Thursday. Please read both books and ask questions about them. 

Please write a note in your child's reading record book when a book has been completed and sign the relevant parent signature box. This allows for an easy change as we know if the book has been read. 

Spellings

Well done to all the children for working hard on their spellings.

This week we will focus on writing sentences. Please read the sentence to your child, ask them to write it and then check it together focusing on letter formation and spellings. You can keep reading the sentence to help them retain it if needed. 

Thank you to everyone who came to watch our Harvest worship. We are proud of all the children for taking part. 

Computing

We have started to explore the online platform 'Purple Mash'. We have created our own avatars and explored paint projects.

Science

In Science we have continued to learn about animals. We have talked about the structure of animals before creating our own and labelling the different body parts.
