Dear parents,
Welcome back to the Year 1 Friday blog!
Each week you will find out what we have been doing in class, our weekly spellings, reminders and lots more!
Every Friday, the blog will be shared with the class to recap our learning and make them aware of their homework.
Moving to online homework has allowed us to become a more eco friendly school.
Reading books will continue to be changed on a Thursday. Please read both books and ask questions about them.
Please write a note in your child's reading record book when a book has been completed and sign the relevant parent signature box. This allows for an easy change as we know if the book has been read.
The children will have the opportunity to change their library books each Thursday. Please spend time sharing these stories at home and asking about their choices.
Spellings
Please practise your spellings ready for the quiz on Thursday. These are also available on spelling frame.
In Maths we have been using base 10 to learn about 10 more and 10 less.
In English we have been using our new books that have handwriting lines in to help with letter formation. Please encourage the children to use the correct formation when writing at home.
In Geography we have learning about the weather and created weather wheels. See our class gallery for more pictures.
CLASS WORSHIP
The children are very excited to perform our class worship next Wednesday. Please send in a pair of sunglasses, if you have not already done so.
The children have a copy of their lines for the worship in their bags. Please practise over the weekend as we would like to children to not hold them on the day. Thank you for your support.
