Dear parents,
Welcome back to the Year 1 Friday blog!
Each week you will find out what we have been doing in class, our weekly spellings, reminders and lots more!
Every Friday, the blog will be shared with the class to recap our learning and make them aware of their homework.
Moving to online homework has allowed us to become a more eco friendly school.
On Monday, the class had a wonderful trip to the Fireground. Please look at our class gallery for lots of pictures!
Reading books will continue to be changed on a Thursday. Please read both books and ask questions about them.
Please write a note in your child's reading record book when a book has been completed and sign the relevant parent signature box. This allows for an easy change as we know if the book has been read.
The children will have the opportunity to change their library books each Thursday. Please spend time sharing these stories at home and asking about their choices.
Spellings
Please practise your spellings ready for the quiz on Thursday. These are also available on spelling frame.
English
In English we have been doing lots writing to consolidate our learning throughout the year. We have written recounts, information texts and practised our handwriting!
Maths
In Maths we have been busy completing assessments. Next week we will continue learning about fact families.
