Welcome back to the Year 1 Friday blog!
Each week you will find out what we have been doing in class, our weekly spellings, reminders and lots more!
Every Friday, the blog will be shared with the class to recap our learning and make them aware of their homework.
Moving to online homework has allowed us to become a more eco friendly school.
Staffing News
This half term we have two new members of staff joining the Year 1 team. This week we have welcomed Mrs Hollinshead and next week we will welcome Miss Whittaker. Both are teaching assistants and will be a wonderful addition to the team. Mrs Dean has been a fantastic support to the class and her expertise are needed to support another class.
Reading books will continue to be changed on a Thursday. Please read both books and ask questions about them.
Please write a note in your child's reading record book when a book has been completed and sign the relevant parent signature box. This allows for an easy change as we know if the book has been read.
The children will have the opportunity to change their library books each Thursday. Please spend time sharing these stories at home and asking about their choices.
There are no spellings this week as next week the children will be completeing their Phonics Screening Check. Please continue to practise the real and nonsense words in the files to download section to support the children. I will administer the check with the children which they are very familiar with. Results will be shared on their end of year reports.
