Year 1 Friday Blog - Half Term!
Date: 23rd Oct 2026 @ 6:57pm
Welcome to the Year 1 Friday Blog!
Each week you will find out about our learning, events coming up, weekly spellings and lots more!
Reading books will continue to be changed on a Thursday. Please read both books and ask questions about them.
Please write a note in your child's reading record book when a book has been completed and sign the relevant parent signature box. This allows for an easy change as we know if the book has been read.
Spellings
Well done to all the children for working hard on their spellings this half term.
Next half term we will be learning lots of new sounds!
Black History Day
As part of Black History Day we read the book My Two Grandads and found out about the life of the author, Floella Benjamin.
Harvest Appeal
Thank you for your donations for the harvest appeal. The children had lots of fun solving puzzles before taking on each obstacle.
Have a lovely half term,
from the Year 1 team
