Welcome to Year 2.png

Dear Parents,

We have had a lovely week in the run up to the Christmas holidays. As well as having a great time in our Christmas party, we also enjoyed performing some of the songs from our Nativity play for the grandparents in the coffee morning.

As mentioned in the blog last week, staff will be supporting Derian House this year and making a donation on behalf of each class.

Having completed an innovated story plan, the children used their plans to retell their version of A Right Royal Disaster. The children then went on to write their innovated stories, focusing on the consistent use of capital letters and full stops.

In our maths lessons this week, we have been focusing on time. We have revisited o'clock and half past the hour.

We continued with the theme of Incarnation throughout the week. We focused on the fact that Christmas is a time for giving. The children thought about what they could give that is priceless. They came up with some wonderful answers such as hugs, love, compassion and smiles.

HOMEWORK

There is no homework over Christmas except to keep reading and have a lovely rest!

A new spelling overview for the spring term will be sent home when we return to school. The new spellings will also be posted on the blog the first week back.
