Euxton Factor Auditions
Well done to all of the children who took part in the auditions on Wednesday afternoon. The audience also did a wonderful job by cheering on and supporting their classmates.
Congratulations to Hannah, Alfie W., Harry B. and Wilbur who have been voted by their classmates to take part in the final.

We will be leaving school on Wednesday morning straight after the register has been taken. Please ensure that your child is in school by 8.55am. Challenge
This week in English, we have been using our imaginations to design our own dragons!
First, we planned what we wanted to write by thinking about our dragon's movement, habitat, communication and diet. We talked with our partners and shared lots of brilliant ideas before writing.
Next, we used our plans to write a description of our dragon. We remembered to use capital letters and full stops correctly. We also challenged ourselves to include question marks and exclamation marks to make our writing more exciting!
We presented our work as a two-page spread with a colourful drawing of our dragon in the middle. Around our pictures, we wrote interesting facts about where our dragon lives, how it moves, what it eats and how it communicates.

In Maths this week, we have been learning how to tell the time to the nearest five minutes. The children have been practising reading analogue clocks and recognising that each number around the clock represents five-minute intervals. We have explored the difference between the minute hand and the hour hand and learned to match time vocabulary with the correct number of minutes, including o'clock, five minutes past, ten minutes past, quarter past, twenty minutes past, twenty-five minutes past, half past, twenty-five minutes to, twenty minutes to, quarter to, ten minutes to and five minutes to.
The class enjoyed using practical clocks, matching games, and partner activities to build their confidence in reading and saying the time. They have shown great perseverance and are becoming much more confident at identifying times throughout the day.
You can support your child at home by looking at analogue clocks together and asking them to tell the time at different points during the day.
This week in History, we continued our learning from last week's job application activity. After successfully applying for their chosen historical occupation, the children imagined they had been given the role and wrote a diary entry about a day in the life of that occupation.
Before writing, we discussed what life might have been like in the past and thought carefully about the jobs people did and the challenges they faced. The children used what they had learned in the previous lessons to help make their diary entries realistic and interesting.
Please note that reading books will now be changed on a Wednesday. Two books are given to each child to read for the week. Please write a note in your child's reading record book when a book has been completed and sign the relevant parent signature box. This allows for an easy change as we know if the book has been read.
Please ask your child not to bring their own reading books in from home. They are given the opprtunity to select a reading book from our class bookcase. Thank you for your support.
Regular reading at home really helps to build comprehension skills, including inference (reading between the lines), as well as improving fluency and confidence. Please try to read with your child every night.
The children will have the opportunity to change their library books each Tuesday. Please spend time sharing these stories at home and asking about their choices.

End of Day Routine
- Children will only be allowed to go home with adults listed on the safeguarding form, unless school has been contacted to state otherwise.
- Children will be dismissed one at a time. Please let the adult on the door know who you are picking up and they will then call the child.
- We kindly request that all children are dismissed prior to teachers/ Teaching Assistants being approached by parents.
- Should any child need to come back into the classroom, we will allow them back into the room after all of the children have been dismissed.
