Dear Parents,
Thank you for supporting the Wear It Blue campaign.
As part of our homework this week, we thought it would be beneficial for the children to focus on who they can turn to for help if they need support.
Talk to someone you can trust, such as your parents or carers, a grandparent, a teacher, a teaching assistant, or another known and trusted adult.
Please see the Colour Your Feelings activity in the files to download section. Choose one of the sheets and once completed, perhaps you would like to chat to a trusted adult about your activity.

Challenge
The challenge will return next week. Please use your free time to focus on the Colour Your Feelings activity (as outlined above).

In our literacy work, the children have been engaging deeply with The Tale of Peter Rabbit. They took on the role of Mr. McGregor, responding to a set of comprehension questions from his perspective, which helped develop their understanding of character viewpoints and inference skills.
We also explored the use of adjectives in the story. Working in pairs, the children sorted a variety of descriptive words into categories related to Peter Rabbit—including personality traits, physical appearance, family and friends, and details about other characters or events. This activity supported their vocabulary development and their ability to describe and analyse characters more effectively.

In maths, we have been continuing to learn how to use our number bonds to 10 to help us work out number bonds to 20. For example, if we know that 8 + 2 = 10, then we can use that to help us solve 18 + 2 = 20.
We have also been practising spotting missing numbers in number bond problems and using what we already know to help us solve them. The children have been using base 10 equipment and their growing mental maths skills to build confidence and accuracy.

We have been looking at different children’s Bible covers and thinking about what makes them eye-catching and interesting. We explored how colours, pictures and words are used to help show what the Bible is all about and to appeal to young readers. Then we had a go at designing our own covers! The children created their own front covers for a children’s Bible, using everything they had learned. They also wrote blurbs for the back – short, catchy summaries to explain what the Bible is and why someone might want to read it.

Please see the gallery section for more photographs of us designing our own Bible covers.
HOMEWORK
Reading
Please try to read with your child every night. Regular reading at home really helps to build their comprehension skills, including inference (reading between the lines), as well as improving their fluency and confidence.
Even just 10 minutes a day can make a big difference!
