Dear Parents,

Another fun-filled week in Year 2! The children had a great time auditioning for the Euxton Factor. Well done to all of the children who took part and also to those who chose to cheer their friends on. What a delight it was for all of us to be a part of such a special morning.

This Week in Maths: Mental Addition and Subtraction

We have learning how to add the numbers 9 and 19 by rounding and compensating.

 

We have been continuing with our work on the Pentecost. As we cannot see the Holy Spirit, we create symbols to represent it. We discussed the reasons why doves and flames are often used. In our computing lessons this half term, we have been looking at how ideas can be presented in different ways. We created our own fact files to present information relating to the United Kingdom.

Reading - Please read every night. Answer a selection of questions about the thoughts, feelings and actions of any of the characters in your reading book.

Spellings - Please find this weeks spellings below and a link to spelling frame. Our spelling quiz will be on Thursday 17th July.

Choose five or more spellings and write a sentence for each of the words. Remember to think it, say, write it and then check for full stops and capital letters.                   Words to learn this week Add -er,-ed and -ing (doubling the last letter of the root word).
