We have all had a fun-filled week. Our week started with our fantastic trip to Clitheroe Castle. Please see the history and the gallery sections for more details of the day.

Our learning this week in Year 2

We have been learning how to write a set of instructions using both imperative verbs and time conjunctions. Having studied a set of instructions, the children then went on to work with a partner, sequencing a set of instructions about how to play a game of snakes and ladders. The children worked closely with their partners to identify the imperative verbs and time conjuctions, both of which were then underlined using different coloured pencils.

This week in maths we have continued our work on fractions. As well as finding fractions of different shapes, we have also been learning how to count on and back in steps of 1/2 and 1/4.

As part of our topic of Ascension and Pentecost, we have been discussing heaven (where Jesus told His people he was going). The children were given the opportunity to express their ideas about their perceptions of heaven by creating expressive pictures.

Clitheroe Castle Trip

We all had a fantastic time at Clitheroe Castle Museum. As well as learning all about castles and keeps, we also learned about Myths and Legends. The children all behaved beautifully and impressed the guides with their mature questions and answers.
