Dear Parents,
We have had a busy week doing our quizzes. The children have all worked extremely hard and have earned lots of team points. We have also had lots of fun looking at new history artefacts from the museum loan service. The children were amazed by how heavy the helmets and armour were in our Norman Artefacts treasure chest.
Art Week - 23rd - 27th June

We are beginning an art project in school entitled 'Something Special'. As part of this project, I introduced a place that is special to me and explained all the reasons why, going into lots of detail about how it makes me feel when I visit that place. I showed a picture of the daffodils that line the approach to my special place in Mumbles. I explained to the children that I would then paint my picture focusing on the daffodil, as that reminds me of my special place. The children then spent time privately thinking about their own 'something special'. They each came up with their own ideas which will inspire a piece of artwork (sunsets, flowers, shells, beach balls etc.). In order to support this art project, we ask that the children bring in a memento (this could be a photograph/picture) which represents their 'something special'.These are going to form the foundation of their artwork and it would help the children greatly if they could bring these to class next week. Thank you in advance. |
