Dear Parents,

We have all enjoyed Art Week and loved using the medium of paint to showcase our 'something special', signifying our special place. Our Sports Day with our friends in Year One was also lots of fun. Everyone was given the opportunity to participate in all of the events, and it was lovely to hear the children offer words of encouragement to one another.

We have all been very excited about starting our new text,The Boy Who Grew Dragons. Having created and written descriptions for given pictures of dragons, the children then came up with some wonderfully imaginative creations of their own. These mythical dragons were then used as the basis for planning a non-chronological report.  As well as studying the features and layout of non-chronological reports, we have also focused on using expanded noun phrases and punctuating work with accuracy.

Join Mo’s Mission: Let’s get moving together!

This year, Youth Sport Trust are celebrating 30 years of  improving young people’s lives through sport and play. To mark this milestone, our National School Sport Champion, four-time Olympic Champion Sir Mo Farah CBE, has set an incredible challenge:

Together, let’s pledge 30,000,000 active minutes by the end of 2025!

 Sir Mo Farah said:

“Every young person deserves to grow up happy, healthy, and with the opportunity to achieve their full potential. Staying active for 60 minutes a day (or 20 minutes for SEND young people) is a big part of making this happen.

“Join me in Mo’s Mission and help inspire children across the UK to get moving. Together, we can create brighter futures and make a real difference to their health and wellbeing. Let’s do this - no MoBot until the mission is done!”

Please complete the weekly planner (in the files to download section). Each child (or parent of the younger children) can write how many active minutes they have achieved before, during and after school for the week commencing 30th June.
