Date: 5th Mar 2026 @ 1:55pm
Dear Parents,
Welcome to our weekly blog where you will find out about what we have been doing in class, homework and important updates.
Thank you to everyone who came to parents' evening this week, it was so lovely to chat and discuss the incredible progress your children have made this year.
Well done to our award winners who have worked extreamly hard this week
World book day 2026
Year 5 had a fantastic day yesterday celebrating World Book Day. The children took part in a range of book-themed activities, joined a live lesson focused on the joy and importance of reading, and enjoyed sharing stories with Year 2. Take a look at some of the exciting things we got up to throughout the day!
Year 5 class worship
Our upcoming assembly on Friday 13th March will be all about Mother’s Day. To help make the celebration extra special, we are inviting you to share a photo of your child with their mum or someone special to them, that you would be happy for us to include in the assembly. It is always a lovely opportunity for the children to see their special memories displayed and celebrated together.
Homework
This week's spellings are listed below. There are activities assigned on Spelling Shed for your children to complete based on our new spellings. The children are tested weekly on a Thursday. Please do encourage your child to log on and practice these words.
Reading
We ask the children to read as much as possible as there are huge benefits to this within all areas of the curriculum. Children can bring their book back into school any day and they are able to change them independently. Could you please encourage your children to read as much as possible and record this in their reading record.
TT Rockstars
Please encourage your child to access their TT Rockstars account and complete tasks and challenges on the website to practice their times tables.
