Reading

We ask the children to read as much as possible as there are huge benefits to this within all areas of the curriculum. Children can bring their book back into school any day and we will change it for them.

Times tables

Please encourage your child to access their TT Rockstars account and complete tasks and challenges on the website to practice their times tables.

English

In English this week the children have been creating their own non chronological reports all about their mythical creature. The children have been working in pairs to edit and improve their writing and we have been very impressed with how well the children have worked.

Maths

This week, we began our new topic on angles! The children started by identifying different types of angles and exploring their features. They then had the opportunity to use protractors to measure a variety of angles accurately. Throughout the week, we have been focusing on developing our reasoning skills to help us explain and justify our answers to key questions. Can you answer the question below?

History

In History this week, we have been exploring the different Gods and Goddesses of the Ancient Greeks. We then compared them to the Roman Gods and couldn’t believe how similar they were! Afterwards, we examined a range of historical sources to investigate how these can be used to discover what life was like during ancient times.

Crucial Crew

On Monday, Year 5 and 6 took part in a series of engaging workshops run by a range of different services. The children learned valuable information about how to keep themselves safe and listened carefully to the presentations. They asked thoughtful questions and gave fantastic answers during the quiz at the end of the session.
