Dear Parents,
Welcome to our weekly blog where you will find out about what we have been doing in class, homework and important updates.
Well done to our award winners who have worked extreamly hard this week!
Homework
This week's spellings are listed below. There are activities assigned on Spelling Shed for your children to complete based on our new spellings. The children are tested weekly on a Thursday. Please do encourage your child to log on and practice these words.

Reading
We ask the children to read as much as possible as there are huge benefits to this within all areas of the curriculum. Children can bring their book back into school any day and they are able to change them independently. Could you please encourage your children to read as much as possible and record this in their reading record.
TT Rockstars
Please encourage your child to access their TT Rockstars account and complete tasks and challenges on the website to practice their times tables.
English
This week, we have been focusing on the different reading domains and answering questions based on the next chapter of our class book. The children then used storyboards to retell the key events, helping to deepen their understanding of the text. They have also continued to apply their knowledge of relative clauses independently in their writing, as well as using cohesive devices effectively to link paragraphs.

Maths
In maths this week, we have been focusing on multiplying and dividing by 100. The children used a range of manipulatives and resources to support their understanding and to answer a variety of questions. They have also continued to practise multiplication, including calculations involving 2-digit by 2-digit and 3-digit by 2-digit numbers, developing both their accuracy and confidence.
Science
This week in science we continued our work on Living things. The children recapped their understanding fo the differnt animal groups and then moved onto plants. The childen had to name the diffeent features of a plant and match this to its function. Can you answer the question below about the different animal groups?
