Reading
Reading plays a vital part in the development of every child and we know just how important this is for every child. We encourage you to read with your child every night or allow them to read to you. Children are to bring their books back into school each day so that an adult can read with them and they can be changed.
TT Rockstars
Please encourage your child to access their TT Rockstars account and complete tasks and challenges on the website to practice their times tables.
English
This week in our English we have continued our work on The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. We used descriptive language features to describe a setting. We also read the first chapter of the book and were introduced to some new characters. We explored the features of the new character and drew an image of what we imagined them to look like. We then used inference to explore more about them and their personality.
Maths
In Maths, we have moved onto our new topic based on addition and subtraction. We have been looking at how to solve problems mentally using a number of different methods to support us. Have a go at the question below, how many different ways can you come up with to solve the problem?
Science
This week we have completed an investigation based on different materials. We had to check which material was the best insulator. We explore the equipment we would need, the method in which we would complete the investigation and finally we made predictions on which material we thought would be the best insulator.
