Reading

We ask the children to read as much as possible as there are huge benefits to this within all areas of the curriculum. Children can bring their book back into school any day and they are able to change them independently.  Could you please encourage your children to read as much as possible and record this in their reading record.

TT Rockstars

Please encourage your child to access their TT Rockstars account and complete tasks and challenges on the website to practice their times tables.

English

This week, we have continued our work on The Invention of Hugo Cabret. The children were introduced to new characters and used their inference skills to deepen their understanding, carefully identifying what we can learn about each character from the text. Building on this, the children made thoughtful predictions about what might happen next in the story, showing great engagement and imagination.

In Maths this week, we have continued to build on our understanding of fractions. The children have been practising how to add and subtract fractions, carefully following clear steps to ensure accuracy. We used our “Steps to Success” to guide our thinking and support us in solving each problem. Can you answer the question below based on fractions?
