This week in maths, the children have been learning how to convert different units of time! 🌟 They’ve been exploring both metric and imperial measures, using simple strategies to make these conversions easier.

Exploring Leadership and Tough Decisions in RE This Week

This week in RE, the children thought about the hard choices made by Jochebed, the mother of Moses. We shared our own experiences of difficult decisions and discussed what helped us make those choices. 🌟

We also learned about Deborah, a key figure in the Old Testament Book of Judges. Deborah was the only female judge in the Bible and showed amazing leadership qualities. She worked as a Prophetess, resolving disputes and guiding the people of Israel during challenging times. πŸ“œβš–οΈ

Deborah’s strong relationship with God made her a respected leader. This week, we asked the children: What makes a good leader? πŸ€”

Here are some important qualities we talked about:

  • Empathy: Understanding how others feel.
  • Integrity: Being honest and having strong morals.
  • Decisiveness: Making choices confidently.
  • Vision: Knowing where to lead others.
  • Respectfulness: Gaining trust and admiration from others.

                                               Science

This Week in Science: Parachute Investigations! πŸͺ‚

This week, the children have been exploring air resistance! They made their own parachutes using plastic bags, experimenting with different sizes to see how it affects their fall.

What We Did in Class

The children focused on measuring how various parachute sizes work with air resistance. They recorded their results on their  recording sheets. This activity helped them learn about scientific methods while having fun!

Take a Look!

Visit our gallery for photographs of this exciting investigation and see the children in action! πŸ“ΈπŸ§‘‍πŸ”¬

Courageous Advocacy: Water Walk
This year, our school council have been looking at ways we can save water as a school as well as
helping charities such as Water Aid to deliver clean water to other countries. As part of this theme,
the school council have organised a water walk on Wednesday 21st May. This will involve all
children walking around our daily mile track whilst carrying containers of water. There has been a
sponsorship form sent home with your child to raise money for Water Aid.
