Date: 5th Nov 2025 @ 8:27am

Dear Parents,

Thank you for supporting Odd Socks Day on Monday 10th November. The theme for Anti-Bullying Week this year is Power for Good. The children all loved singing along to the song 'Power for Good' by Andy and the Odd Socks band.

We have continued to explore The Diary of Anne Frank, this time creating lots of inference about how it must have felt for her and her family while hiding.  We know that Anne Frank was exceptional at writing and want to convey this in our own writing. This week, we have analysed a suspense text which helps us to gain control over our writing.  Our aim has been to write with suspense, using these different techniques.

We have continued to practise the long division method and EVERYONE can complete a long division question, which is absolutely fantastic!  This week we have incorporated more challenging questions, including those which have remainders.  We will continue to practise this and over methods weekly.  We have now moved our learning onto fractions, in particular equivalence.  Once again, I have emphasised to the class how incredibly important times table knowledge is!

Exploring the character and nature of God: this week we watched two different videos which reveal what the Hindu belief about God is.  This sparked a very interesting comparison discussion with Christian views of God. We also answered key questions by completing our unit booklets.
