Looking ahead to SATS week:  Monday 12th-Thursday 15th May: important notice

During the week of SATS, we warmly welcome the children to arrive at school no earlier than 8.15am (although this is not compulsory).  This is so we have a plenty of time to chat with friends and staff, enjoy a snack and settle in, ready to begin our first paper promptly.

SATS Bootcamp Homework

Maths:  Arithmetic Test 8

Reading:  Reading Test 9

Grammar:  SPAG Short Answers Test 7

Spellings: This week we have re-visited several spelling rules by playing lots of different games.  Please continue to practise ALL of your spellings, using Spelling Frame to help and the spelling overview, which is attached.

English-The Giant's Necklace

Slide1(2).JPG

This week we have read The Giant's Necklace together, as a class.  We have enjoyed a wonderful disussion about how the weather changes with the mood of the story.  The children have written character descriptions and we are now preparing facts for a newspaper report.

Maths-revision of key topics

The children have worked fantastically well all week!  They have completed more arithmetic practise and we have focused on ratio, measurements and geometry.  They have also worked in pairs to complete more reasoning papers.  Keep up the great work!

RE-ideas about God

Following on from our introduction last week, we have looked at how God reveals their nature through Jesus.  Exploring scripture and using our comprehension skills has helped us with this.

Computing

Working with Mr Astle, the children have created quizzes to help remember key facts for their SATS.  They have used Purple Mash and created a variety of question formats.

Have a wonderful three day weekend!
